So far I have found that Ubuntu 7.10 performs significantly FASTER than Fedora - usable infact. While I am currently running Fedora 8 werewolf.. I am considering reloading ubuntu as I am not real happy with Fedora's performance. Thanks to the anonymous reader who mentioned the xdriver=fbdev trick!  I will now try if rawhide still has the problem and report it if not.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;matt: As regards running Ubuntu, I don't know.  It is as bloated as Fedora in my opinion.  I tried Debian here and it feels much faster than Fedora (mostly because of yum!).  But I would not recommend anyone to run a full desktop environment in the PS3. So it boots into Linux fine.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;So plop the DVD in, boots.. Goes into Text Install automatically. &lt;BR/&gt;Runs Anaconda and begins searching for devices.. All LOOKS OK.. then..&lt;BR/&gt;I get the same error videocard.py and forced reboot..&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Do I need update the otheros? &lt;BR/&gt;Is there a different command at kboot?
